LOVE DECANTED, HALF-TRUTHS, and Other Updates

A big thank you goes out to everyone who has read our book, LOVE DECANTED, which came out officially on March 12, 2020. Both the eBook and softcover are available now at Bookbaby. The eBook is also available on Amazon, but the softcover release date has been pushed back to May 1, 2020. You can order it now (in pre-release) and it will be delivered to you on May 1st. Not the end of the world considering these challenging times.

On that note, we hope everyone’s health and sanity remain intact during this period of social isolation, repeated hand washing, and physical/social distancing. From what we’ve seen, this has brought out the worst in people (brawling over toilet paper), as well as the best (countless gestures to help those most in need).

In a related vein, we postponed our book launch, which was initially scheduled for March 28th. As soon as we’re allowed to have more than 5 people in one place, we’ll set another date and make it happen.

We’ve also been in contact with some of our friends from Niagara, and we’re super excited to be lining up some book readings at our favourite wineries. This, too, remains on hold until we can nail down some dates. As soon as that happens, we’ll let people know, so you can join us if you can.

If you haven’t already done so, we invite you to meet the cast of characters from LOVE DECANTED on our website: https://emilieryan.com/books/love-decanted/.

We’ve prepared our own version of 20-questions, which, in practice, tends to be more like 23 questions, but who’s counting? You’ll get to learn, among other things, what makes each of the main characters laugh, where they would go on a second date, and what they wanted to be when they grew up—some have matured more than others.

On another note, we submitted our second novel, HALF-TRUTHS, to a generous number of agents and independent publishers. The basic premise of the book centres around a no-nonsense detective whose life takes an unexpected turn after he gets assaulted in the line of duty by a man he will come to know as his adult son.

We’re only a few weeks into the submission process, but for some reason, it feels like a lot longer. Through this process, we’ve discovered some amazing publishing houses in Canada, the United States, Britain, and Australia. We can’t wait for our novel to find its home, and we’ll let you know when we do.

In the meantime, we’re working on our third novel which involves a body washing up on the shores of Sicily. Stay tuned for more…
