Producer: Foxes Island Wines
Region/Country: Marlborough, New Zealand
Grape Varietal(s): Pinot Noir
Consumed: At home
Recommended By: End of the bin at the LCBO

Bottle Presentation: Simple, clean label, with a subtle texture
Appearance: Pale ruby, verging on garnet
Nose: Medium, with strawberry, raspberry, floral, and mint notes. A tinge of cinnamon also emerged.
Taste: Dry, with a light body and medium-high acidity. On the palate, we had sour cherries, leather, garrigue, cloves, and earth.
Finish: A clean, long, and sour finish
Overall Impression: A very good example of a classic Pinot Noir from the Marlborough region in New Zealand. We particularly appreciated the balance, as well as the long, sour cherry finish. Would definitely purchase another bottle or two. This wine would pair well with a range of dishes and, as suggested on the label, it paired beautifully with dark chocolate.
