Wine Review – Hidden Bench Fumé Blanc 2013

Hidden Bench Fumé Blanc 2013 Wine ReviewAnother nice offering from an outstanding winery…

Name: Fumé Blanc, Rosomel Vineyard

Vintage: 2013

Producer: Hidden Bench

Region/Country: Beamsville Bench, Ontario, Canada

Grape Varietal(s): Sauvignon Blanc

Consumed: At home

Recommended By: Meg, Marketing Manager at Hidden Bench

Cost: $27.95

Bottle Presentation: Distinctive and easy to read. The fonts hold well together.

Appearance: Pale gold

Nose: Citrus, floral, honey, with some herbaceous notes

Taste: Lemon, grapefruit, herbs, and some minerality

Finish: A pleasantly long finish of lemon and minerality

Overall Impression: Another nice wine from an outstanding producer. It paired well with chicken and pineapple, adding to the relaxed ambiance of a long weekend. Although we typically shy away from Sauvignon Blanc due mainly to the “aggressive” aftertaste, this fumé version proved lovely.

Rating (from 70 to 100): 85/100
