Bottle Appearance: Interesting font, clean, somewhere between traditional and modern.
Appearance: Dark ruby red.
Nose: Chocolate, leather, and grilled meat (maybe lamb).
Taste: I enjoyed the subtle sweetness, something along the lines of caramel and chocolate. A fairly tannic wine, even with decanting, but I’m happy to say it opened and mellowed over time. It was better with food than without, and I paired it with my favourite homemade risotto (tomato, green onion, and parmesan cheese).
Finish: Some sweetness and leather.
Overall Impression: A nice, engaging Châteauneuf-du-Pape. I’ve had better, but I would drink this one again.
