The View’s 2016 Pinotage Rosé combines a deliciously sweet nose with a crisp, tart mouth…

We adored the vibrant crispness of this Canadian Pinotage Rosé made, interestingly, from a South African varietal.

Contrary to what we have experienced with many wines, the label accurately described this offering, but we didn’t notice any cotton candy. Though the nose had a delicious sweetness, we didn’t detect any of the sweet aromas in the mouth. Still, we enjoyed the tart flavours of pink grapefruit and cranberries. We also enjoyed the fresh minerality of this wine, which paired very nicely with a chicken and vegetable dish, not to mention a green salad tossed in a vinegar-based dressing.

We could easily see this wine pairing beautifully with an array of other salads and light, summer fare. We would definitely try another wine from the View Winery and Vineyard.

As an aside, if you’re into shoes, this winery could be right up your alley (check out the wine’s label and the winery’s website).
