Wine Review – L’Opaline Rosé 2015

Opaline rosé wine bottleA light, dry rosé with plenty of floral notes…

Name: L’Opaline

Vintage: 2015

Producer: Pure Provence SARL

Region/Country: Provence, France

Grape Varietal(s): Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault

Consumed: At Le Riverain Restaurant, Fairmont Le Château Montebello

Recommended By: The waitress at Le Riverain.

Cost: $12.50 per glass.

Bottle Presentation: Simple, yet modern and stylish.

Appearance: Pale salmon.

Nose: Predominantly floral with a tinge of raspberries and, perhaps, some lemon and honey.

Taste: Floral, herbaceous, and notably dry.

Finish: Herbaceous notes remained, although not an overly long finish.

Overall Impression: A light, dry rosé with plenty of floral notes. If you prefer sweeter or fruitier rosés, you might want to look elsewhere, as there are scores of outstanding options (see our other rosé reviews for suggestions). Nevertheless, we could see this wine pairing nicely with seafood, salads, and other light summer fare.

Rating (from 70 to 100): 81/100

Value: 1/5
