Name: Mark West Pinot Noir Vintage 2013

Region/Country: California, USA

Grape Varietal(s): Pinot Noir

Consumed At: Milestone’s Restaurant, Cambie Stree, Vancouver, BC

Bottle Presentation: Classic, but nothing distinctive other than the yellow-coloured label

Appearance: Light ruby red

Nose: Cured meats, leather, charred wood

Taste: Sour cherries, plums, charred wood

Finish: Long charred wood, sour cherries

Overall Impression: Though a light wine, it had an intriguing and flavourful taste. It also paired well with the three dishes our family and I had: steak-frites, shrimp with spiced Cajun garlic cream sauce, and pesto chicken penne with Asiago cheese. I would definitely have this wine again.
