Bottle Presentation: Distinctive, recognizable label, which fits with the philosophy of the winery and its owner.
Appearance: Light-medium pink, although much deeper than some Rosés, especially from France.
Nose: Medium nose with red fruit, particularly strawberries, as well as some floral (rose) and citrus notes.
Taste: Dry wine with high acidity, medium body, and low tannins. The initial red fruit notes (cranberry and raspberry) turned into floral and citrus notes, highlighting the surprising complexity of the wine.
Finish: Medium finish length, with pronounced citrus notes.
Overall Impression: We were pleasantly surprised by this very good Rosé from Megalomaniac. We particularly enjoyed the citrus finish, as well as the complexity and balance. This Rosé could be thoroughly enjoyed on a patio with the sun shining, as the weather warms up. We paired it with a tomato and roasted garlic soup and the combination proved exceptional. Accordingly, this Rosé should pair very well with any other tomato-based dishes.
